April 4, 2009 - UAC 2

The Ultimate Armwrestling Championship had a bumpy start but was turned into a great show. There were some great match-ups and and a demonstration of raw power.

in the first match Gary Laird of Middleton and Tatamagouche's Matthew Purdy squared off in a Left Hand Hook match. These two had 3 tough pulls with Gary taking it in 3 straight.

In Battle of the Atlantic Middleweight  Right Hand tilt New Brunswick's Rejean Allain was able to stop fast hitting Ryan Purdy and take him out 3-0.

Next up was the money match. Both Bedford's Wayde Graves and Ontario's Craig Mitchell put up $250. Wayde  was unable to top the hard hitting Mitchell and Craig won the series 3-0.

The Ladies were up next. With Tanya Todd unable to make it through Canadian Customs New Brunswick's Joyce King stepped in o pull Ontario's Tamara Mitts. This was more of a demonstration than an actual pull and the series tied at 2 wins each.

After the break we went to the vacant Battle of the Atlantic Lightweight Championship match. The title became vacant when Champion Artie MacMaster was injured at work and is unable to defend his title. The match was to be between Number 1 ranked Ed McLellan and Number 2 ranked Trever Weatherbee. When Ed fell ill we had to replace him with Number 3 ranked Will Sarty.

Will was more than capable of stepping up to the challenge as patience and stamina  proved too much for Trever.  These two put on the best show of the night with each match going back and forth. Trever came close several times but each time Will held him off and went to take the series 4-0.

In the UAC Heavyweight Championship match Shawn Ross was asked to step in for Champion Michael Todd when he failed to make it. As strong as Shawn is, he was no match for the power of Big Earl Wilson of Ontario. Earl was able to let Shawn hit and power through him.
